        གཞས་གདངས་        བླ་མ་བློ་བཟང་།

        གཞས་ལེན་མཁན་    ཤེར་བསྟན་དང་    ཧོར་གཙང་ལྷ་ལུང་མཚོ།

གསར་~རྩོམ་   དེབ་~ཀྱི་   ནང་~ན་   ཡིག་~ནོར་   གང་~ ~ ~།

sàr~zom   děb~gyi   naŋ~na   yig~nor   gǎŋ~ ~ ~,

Newly published books are full of spelling mistakes,

    དུས་~དེབ་   གསར་~འགྱུར་   ནང་~དུ་   སྒྲགས་~ཡིག་   མང་~ ~ ~།

    dus~děb   sàr~gyùr   naŋ~dǔ   drág~yig   maŋ~ ~ ~,

    There is a lot of propaganda in magazines and newspapers,

བོད་~པའི་   མདུན་~དུ་   བོད་~ཡིག་   རིན་~ཐང་  ཆུང་~ ~ ~།

bǒd~bai   dùn~dǔ   bǒd~yig   rin~taŋ   quŋ~ ~ ~.

For Tibetans, the Tibetan language has little value.

    རིག་~གནས་   རིན་~ཐང་  ཤེས་~དགོས་   ཨ་~མའི་   བུ~ ~ ~།

    rig~nás   rin~taŋ  xes~gós   a~mai   bǔ~ ~ ~.

    You should recognize the value of your culture, sons of your mothers!

When parents meet their children, they speak different languages,

    སྤུན་~ཟླ་   ཕན་~ཚུན་   ཐུག་~དུས་   སྒྲགས་~སྐད་   བཤད~ ~ ~།

    bun~dá   pan~cun   tug~dǔs   drág~gad   xàd~ ~ ~.

    When brothers and sisters meet each other, they speak the language of propaganda.

བུ་~ཡི་   མདུན་~དུ་   ཕ་~སྐད་   རིན་~ཐང་   ཆུང་~ ~ ~།

bǔ~yi   dùn~dǔ   pa~gad   rin~taŋ   quŋ~ ~ ~.

For children, the language of their fathers has little value.

When Tibetans from the western, eastern, and central regions meet, they speak another language,

    མདོ་~དབུས་   ཁམས་~གསུམ་   འཕྲད་~ན་   ལོ་~ཙཱ་   དགོས།

    dò~wus   kam~sùm   tràd~na   lo~za   gós.

    If people from Amdo, Central Tibet, and Kham meet, they need a translator.

རང་~གི་   མདུན་~དུ་   རང་~སྐད་   རིན་~ཐང་   ཆུང་།

raŋ~gi   dùn~dǔ   raŋ~gad   rin~taŋ   quŋ.

Our own language has little value for us.

    རིག་~གཞུང་   རིན་~ཐང་   ཤེས་~དགོས་   ཨ་~མའི་བུ།

Modern girls do not understand the language of their parents.

    དུས་~རབས་   བུ་~མོས་   ཕ་~མའི་   སྐད་~མི་   གོ།

    dǔs~rab   bǔ~mos   pa~mai   gad~mi   gǒ,

    If, on the auspicious occasion when mother and son happen to meet,

མ་~བུ་   ལྷན་~འཛོམས་   ཡོང་~བའི་   དུས་~བཟང་   སར།

ma~bǔ   lhan~zòm   yoŋ~vai   dǔs~sáŋ   sar!

You, the son, do not understand the language of your father, what a shame!

    When a father speaks to his son in Tibetan

ཨ་~ཕས་   བུ་~ལ་   བོད་~སྐད་   བཤད་~དུས་   སུ།
