gòn-bo dǒn-drùb
གངས་~ དཀར་~པོའི་ ལྕགས་~ རི་~ ཟླུམ་ ~པོ་རུ་ བསྐོར་~ བའིཡེ~ །
gǎŋ~ gar~boi jag~ ri~
Surrounded by a circular fence
dúm ~bo-ru gor~ vai-ye~ ,
of white snowy mountains,
ས་~ སྐྱིད་~པོ་ བསིལ་~ ལྡན་~ གངས་ ~ཕྲུག་གི་ ཕ་~ སཡེ~ །
sa~ gyid~bo sìl~ dán~
The cool happy land of Tibet is the fatherland
gǎŋ ~trug-gĭ pa~ sa-ye~ .
of the children of the snow.
གནས་~ དེ་~རུ་ སྐྱེས་ ~པའི་ མཛའ་~མཐུན་གྱི་ སྤུན་~ ཟླ~ །
nás~ dě~ru gyes ~bai
Do not forget the life stories
zà~tun-gyĭ bun~ dá~,
of the harmonious siblings,
ཤ་~ རུས་~པ་ གཅིག་~ པའི་~ རྣམ་~ཐར་ དེ་~ མ་~ བརྗེད~ །
xa~ rus~ba jig~ bai~
Born in this place,
nám~tar dě~ ma~ jéd~ .
who have the same blood and bones.

སྔོན་~ མེས་~པོའི་ ཕ་~ ནོར་~ འདོད་ ~འབྱུང་གི་ ནོར་~ བུ ཡེ~ །
ŋón~ mes~boi pa~ nor~,
The heritage of our ancient forefathers,
dòd ~jyùŋ-gi nor~ bǔ-ye~ ,
a wish-fulfilling jewel,
དགྲ་~ གཡོ་~ཅན་ ཝ་~ མོས་~ ལུད་ ~ཕུང་དུ་ བསྙིལ་~ བ ཡེ~ །
drá~ yó~jan wa~ mos~
Deceitful enemies like foxes
lud ~puŋ-dǔ ñìl~ va-ye~.
have broken into a dunghill.
བུ་~ སྙིང་~སྟོབས་ ཅན་~གྱི་ གངས་ ~ཕྲུག་རེ་ ཡོད་~ ནཡེ~ །
bǔ~ ñìŋ~dob jan~ gyĭ~
If any courageous Tibetan
gǎŋ ~trug-re yod~ na-ye~ ,
of the Snows is here,
རྩལ་~ སྡེར་~བཞིའི་ རྒྱལ་~ མཚན་~ རྩེ་ ~མོ་རུ་ ཕྱོར་~ ཤོག~
zal~ dér~xíi gyál~ càn~
Lift it up on the victory banner
ze ~mo-ru qyor~ xog~ !
of the powerful tiger!
རྩལ་~ སྡེར་~བཞིའི་ རྒྱལ་~ མཚན་~ རྩེ་ ~མོ་རུ་ ཕྱོར་~ ཤོག~
zal~ dér~xíi gyál~ càn~
Lift it up on the victory banner
ze ~mo-ru qyor~ xog~ !
of the powerful tiger!
ཁ་~ ཙམ་~མིན་ སྙིང་~ ནས་~ ལ་ ~རྒྱ་ཞིག་ ཡོད་~ ན ཡེ~ །
ka~ zam~min ñìŋ ~ nas~
If you have a commitment which is not mere words
la ~gyá-xĭg yod~ na-ye~ ,
but from the heart,
ནང་~ ཕུ་~ནུ་ བར་~ གྱི་~ རྩོད་ ~གླེང་དེ་ དོར་~ ལ ཡེ~ །
naŋ~ pu~nu bǎr~ gyĭ~
Forsake the quarrels
zod ~léŋ-dě dǒr~ la-ye~ ,
among your siblings,
སྐྱིད་~ ཞི་~བདེ་ འབོད་ ~པའི་ རྒྱང་ ~རིང་གི་ ལྷ་~ བྱ~ །
gyid~ xĭ~dé bòd~ bai~
And invite the divine bird who lives afar
gyáŋ ~riŋ-gĭ lha~ jyǎ~ ,
and calls for happiness and peace,
དབྱར་~ དང་~པོའི་ འཛུམ་~ ཞལ་~ དགའ་ ~སྟོན་ལ་ བོས་~ ཤོག~
yár~ dǎŋ~boi zùm~ xǎl~
To the celebration of the smiling face
gá ~don-la bǒs~ xog~ !
of the first month of summer!
བོད་~ རང་~ལ་ ཡོད་~ པའི་~ རྒྱན་ ~གོས་དེ་ བསྐྱུར་~ ནས ཡེ~ །
bǒd~ raŋ~la yod~ bai~
Do not abandon Tibetan
gyán ~gǒs-dě gyur~ nas-ye~ ,
traditional ornaments and clothes,
གཞན་~ ཀླ་~ཀློའི་ ཆས་~ ལ་~ སྤྲོ་ ~སྣང་ཞིག་ མ་~ སྐྱེ~ །
xán~ lá~lói qas~ la~
Because you are seduced
dro ~nàŋ-xĭg ma~ gye~ .
by the costumes of foreign barbarians.
དྲིན་~ ཕ་~ལོས་ བཞག་ ~པའི་ ཕ་ ~སྐད་དེ་ བརྗེད་~ ན~ །
drĭn~ pa~los xág ~bai
If the language left by
pa ~gad-dě jéd~ na~ ,
our kind forefathers is forgotten,
གངས་~ དཀར་~པོའི་ ཕ་~ ཁྱིམ་~ སྟོང་ ~པ་རུ་ འགྱུར་~ འགྲོ~ །
gǎŋ~ gar~boi pa~ kyim~
The families of the land
doŋ ~ba-ru gyùr~ drò~ .
of the White Snow Mountain will become empty.
དབྱར་~ ཟླ་~གསུམ་ ཁུ་~ བྱུག་~ བོད་ ~ཡུལ་ན་ གྲགས་~ ཀྱང་ ཡེ~ །
yár~ dá~sùm ku~jyǔg
Although in the three months of summer
bǒd ~yul-na drǎg~ gyaŋ-ye~ ,
the cuckoo sings in Tibet,
སྟོན་~ ཐ་~མའི་ ནང་~ དུ་~ མོན་ ~ཡུལ་ལ་ ལོག་~ འགྲོ ཡེ~ །
don~ ta~mai naŋ~dǔ
In the last month of autumn
mon ~yul-la log~ drò-ye~ .
he will fly back to the lowlands.
ཡུན་~ མི་~རིང་ སང་~ཕོད་ ད་ ~ཚོད་ཀྱི་ དུས་~ སུ~ །
yun~ mi~riŋ saŋ~ pod~,
I look forward to next year,
dǎ ~cod-gyi dǔs~ su~
not so long, when at this same time
ཞལ་~ མཉམ་~འཛོམས་ ཡོང་~ བའི~ བདེ་ ~སྐྱིད་ལ་ སྒུག་~ ཡོད ཡེ~ །
xǎl~ ñám~zòm yoŋ~ vai~
We will have the joy
dé ~gyid-la gúg~ yod-ye~ .
of being together again.
ཞལ་~ མཉམ་~འཛོམས་ ཡོང་~ བའི~ བདེ་ ~སྐྱིད་ལ་ སྒུག་~ ཡོད ཡེ~ །
xǎl~ ñám~zòm yoŋ~ vai~
We will have the joy
dé ~gyid-la gúg~ yod-ye~ .
of being together again.
