ལིང་ལང་རྒྱལ་མོ། liŋ laŋ gyálmo 'liŋ laŋ' is a word used very much in dance and songs. Do you remember, also in ‘lokor’ they are saying: 'liŋ laŋ tramo'. In general they say: 'liŋ laŋ tramo', but here they say: 'liŋ laŋ gyálmo'. What does 'liŋ laŋ' mean? liŋ laŋ: means harmonious, something very harmonious, something just like flags that are moving in the air. It is not main word, only for ornament of the songs. Gyálmo: means something important. For example: 'gyál bo' means king, 'gyál mo' means queen. So, something just like a queen, that means very important, they are giving this name: 'liŋ laŋ gyálmo'. And when they are dancing sometimes they say: 'liŋ laŋ gyálmo', sometimes: 'liŋ laŋ tramo' but literature way it must be more: 'lin lan tramo', not 'liŋ laŋ gyálmo. གཡང་~ལགས་ཟླ~་བ་དང་~པོ་ཤར་~བྱུ~། yáŋ~ lag dá~va dǎŋ~ bo xar~ jyǔŋ~
yáŋ lag: means also ornament yáŋ: means glorious, something wonderful dáva dǎŋbo xar: means the 1stmonth has arrived, has started. Here it says 1stmonth, 2ndmonth, 3rd and 4th, it is not 'lokhor' complete of 12 months, it only speaks of four months related to his feelings. ངའི་~དྲིན་~ཆེན་ཕ་~མ་~དྲན་~བྱུང་། ŋai~drĭn~qen pa~ma drǎn ~jyǔŋ།
drĭnqen: means very kind pa ma: father and mother, parents. The 1stmonth has arised, I am remembering my father and mother. And then all this is an ornament: 'liŋ laŋ gyálmo or liŋ laŋ tramo' means very harmonious movements and it is showing that. This is the 1st group. The 2nd group says: གཡང་~ལགས་ཟླ་~བ་གཉིས་~པ་ཤར་~བྱུང་~། yáŋ~lag dá~va ñís~ba~ xar~jyǔŋ~
dáva ñísba: means 2ndmonth. In Tibetan in general ñís: means 2 sùm: means 3, but when we add ‘ba’, as in 'ñís ba, sùm ba, xí ba.'... they become 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. cig: means one, but when we want to say 1st we don’t use ‘cigpa’ very much, we say 'danbo', another word. So the 2nd month has arrived now. ངའི་~སྙིང་~གི་གྲོགས་~པོ་~དྲན་~བྱུང་~། ŋai~ñìŋ~gĭ drǒg~bo~ drǎn ~jyǔŋ~
ñìŋ gĭ: of the heart drǒgbo: friends. When the 2ndmonth has arrived I remember my friends of the heart. So 1st he is remembering parents, 2nd his friends. Friend is not 1st, because parents are more important than friend, any kind of friends. But in general when people fall in love they feel that friend is more important than parents. But it is not like this, there is something to learn also. In 2nd month he is remembering friends.
Then in the 3rd line he says: གཡང་~ལགས་ཟླ་~བ་གསུམ་~པ་~ཤར་~བྱུང་~། yáŋ~lag dá~va sùm~ba ~xar ~jyǔŋ~ The 3rd month has arrived ངའི་~རང་ས་རང་~ཡུལ་~དྲན་~བྱུང་~། ŋai~raŋ ~sa ~raŋ~yul~ drǎn~ jyǔŋ~
rŋai raŋ: I means self sa: means place his own place can be his birth place raŋyul: means his own country. I remember my own country. That feeling is becoming important also for everybody. Then 4thline it is saying: གཡང་~ལགས་ཟླ་~བ་བཞི་~པ་~ཤར་~བྱུང་~། yáŋ ~lag dá~va xí~ba ~ xar ~jyǔŋ~
yáŋlag dáva xíba: now the 4th month has arrived. When the 4thmonth has arrived what is he thinking? ངའི་~ཆུང་~འདྲིས་བྱམས་~པ་~དྲན་~བྱུང~། ŋai~quŋ~drìs jyǎm~ba ~drǎn~ jyǔŋ~
quŋ drìs: means a loved person since childhood, since when they are very small, they grow up together and sometimes they become husband or wife, they love each other, but not necessarily. quŋ drìs: can also be very closed friends, from the beginning in life time they are studying together, they are being together, they grow up together, then later they are doing different lives but also they are paying respect to each other. But in some places for 'quŋ drìs' they understand husband or wife. That can also be: sometimes when you have very close friend relationship you become husband and wife. But not that quŋ drìs: means a very closed friend in the life time. So, this is the meaning: four months are arriving one after another and each time I have that feeling. Then lin lan gyál: means that our harmonious movement, everything is victorious. That is the last word.
