དར་མཚོ།

                                dăr-cò

དགུངས་~སྔོན་  དབྱིངས་~སུ་  སྙེགས་~ པའི~།

gúŋ~ŋòn   yíŋ~su   ñèg~ bai~,

The white and luminous snow mountain,

    དཀར་~གསལ་  གངས་~རི་  དཀར་ ~པོ~།    བསྭོ་~ ཡ་ ལགས་ སོ།

    gar~sàl   găŋ~ri   gar~ bo~,    sò~  ya lag so

    That soars in the blue sky,

        སྲིད་~པའི་  གངས་~རྒན་  ཡིན་ ~གྱི~།

        sìd~bai   găŋ~gán   yin~ gyĭ~,

        Is an ancient snow mountain from the dawn of existence,

            མདང~སང་  བ~མོ་  མ་~ ཡིན~།    བསྭོ་~ ཡ་ ལགས་སོ།

            dàŋ~saŋ   bă~mo   ma~ yin~.    sò~  ya lag so

            And not the frost of these days.

                སྲིད་~པའི་  གངས་~རྒན་  ཡིན་ ~གྱི~།

                sìd~bai  găŋ~gán  yin~ gyĭ~,

                It is an ancient snow mountain from the dawn of existence,

                    མདང~སང་  བ~མོ་  མ་~ ཡིན~།

                    dàŋ~saŋ  bă~mo  ma~ yin~.

                    And not the frost of these days.

ངོ~མཚར་  བདུན་~དང་  ལྡན་~ པའི~།

ŋo~càr   dún~dăŋ   dán~ bai~,

The tradition of Tibet, the Land of Snow,

    གངས་~ཅན་  བོད་~ཀྱི་ སྲོལ་~  རྒྱུན~།    བསྭོ་~ ཡ་ ལགས་ སོ།

    găŋ~jan   bŏd~gyi   sòl~ gyún~,    sò~  ya lag so

    Endowed with the seven wondrous qualities,

        གདོད་~མའི་  སྲོལ་~བཟང་  ཡིན་~ གྱི~།

        dód~mai   sòl~sáŋ   yin~ gyĭ~

        Is an excellent primeval tradition

            བཅོས་~མའི་  རང་~བཟོ་  མ་~ ཡིན~།    བསྭོ་~ ཡ་ ལགས་ སོ།

            jos~mai   raŋ~só   ma~ yin~.    sò~  ya lag so

            And not of contrived creation.

        གདོད་~མའི་  སྲོལ་~བཟང་  ཡིན་~ གྱི~།

        dód~mai   sòl~sáŋ   yin~ gyĭ~

        It is an excellent primeval tradition

            བཅོས་~མའི་  རང་~བཟོ་  མ་~ ཡིན~།

            jos~mai   raŋ~só   ma~ yin~.

            And not of contrived creation.

གཏིང་~བྲལ་  དྭངས་~མའི་  ལྷ་~ ཆུ~།

diŋ~drăl   dăŋ~mai   lha~ qu~,

The blue Manasarovar Lake,

    མ་~ཕམ་  གཡུ་~མཚོ་  སྔོན་~ མོ~།    བསྭོ་~ ཡ་ ལགས་ སོ།

    ma~pam   yú~cò   ŋòn~ mo~,    sò~  ya lag so

    With limpid and deep divine waters,

སྲིད་~པའི་  མཚོ་~མོ་  ཡིན་~ གྱི~།

sìd~bai   cò~mo   yin~ gyĭ~

Is a lake from the dawn of existence

    རྨིག་~རྗེས་  ཆུ་~འཁྱིལ་  མ་~ ཡིན~།    བསྭོ་~ ཡ་ ལགས་ སོ།

    míg~jés   qu~kyìl   ma~ yin~.    sò~  ya lag so

    And not the water that gathers in a hoof print.

        སྲིད་~པའི་  མཚོ་~མོ་  ཡིན་~ གྱི~།

        sìd~bai   cò~mo   yin~ gyĭ~

        It is a lake from the dawn of existence

            རྨིག་~རྗེས་  ཆུ་~འཁྱིལ་  མ་~ ཡིན~།

            míg~jés   qu~kyìl   ma~ yin~.

            And not the water that gathers in a hoof print.

འཛམ་~གླིང་  ཕན་~བདེའི་  གཞི་~ མ~།

zàm~líŋ   pan~déi   xí~ ma~,

The Tibetan culture with its ten branches,

    བཅུ་~ཕྲག་  བོད་~ཀྱི་  རིག་~ གཞུང་~།    བསྭོ་~ ཡ་ ལགས་ སོ།

    ju~trag   bŏd~gyi   rig~ xúŋ~,    sò~  ya lag so

    Foundation of the welfare of the world,

        མེས་~པོའི་  ཕྱག་~རྗེས་  ཡིན་~ གྱི~།

        mes~boi   qyag~jés   yin~ gyĭ~

        Is a heritage that our forefathers handed down to us

            བཅོས་~མའི་  གསར་~གཏོད་  མ་~ཡིན~།    བསྭོ་~ ཡ་ ལགས་ སོ།

            jos~mai   sàr~dod   ma~ yin~.     sò~  ya lag so

            And not a newly contrived creation.

                མེས་~པོའི་  ཕྱག་~རྗེས་  ཡིན་~ གྱི~།

                mes~boi   qyag~jés   yin~ gyĭ~

                It is a heritage that our forefathers handed down to us

                    བཅོས་~མའི་  གསར་~གཏོད་  མ་~ ཡིན~།

                    jos~mai   sàr~dod   ma~ yin~.

                    And not a newly contrived creation.

འོད་~ཟེར་  སྟོང་~དུ་  འབར་~ བ~།

hŏd~sěr  doŋ~dŭ   bàr~ va~,

Blazing with a thousand rays of light,

    ཉིན་~བྱེད་  དབང་~གི་  དཀྱིལ་~ འཁོར~།    བསྭོ་~ ཡ་ ལགས་ སོ།

    ñin~jyěd   wáŋ~gi   gyil~kòr     sò~  ya lag so

    The solar disk that brings the day

        སྲིད་~པའི་  སྒྲོན་~མེ་  ཡིན་~ གྱི~།

        sìd~bai   drón~me   yin~ gyĭ~

        Is a light from the dawn of existence

            སྲིན་~བུ་  མེ་~ཁྱེར་  མ་~ ཡིན~།    བསྭོ་~ ཡ་ ལགས་ སོ།

            sìn~bŭ   me~kyer   ma~ yin~.     sò~  ya lag so

            And not a firefly.

                སྲིད་~པའི་  སྒྲོན་~མེ་  ཡིན་~ གྱི~།

                sìd~bai   drón~me   yin~ gyĭ~

                It is a light from the dawn of existence

                    སྲིན་~བུ་  མེ་~ཁྱེར་  མ་~ ཡིན~།

                    sìn~bŭ   me~kyer   ma~ yin~.

                    And not a firefly.

ཤེས་~རིག་  ཀུན་~གྱི་  མཐར་~ ཐུག~

xes~rig  gun~gyi   tàr~  tug~,

The path of the method of the Buddha’s teaching,

    སངས་~རྒྱས་  ཆོས་~ཀྱི་  ཐབས་~ ལམ~།    བསྭོ་~ ཡ་ ལགས་ སོ།

    saŋ~gyás   qos~gyi  tab~ lam~,    sò~  ya lag so

    The final aim of all knowledge,

        བདེ་~སྐྱིད་  རྩ་~བ་  ཡིན་~ གྱི~།

        dé~gyid  za~va  yin~  gyĭ~

        Is the root of happiness

            བཅོས་~མའི་  རིག་~གསར་  མ་~ ཡིན~།    བསྭོ་~ ཡ་ ལགས་ སོ།

            jos~mai    rig~sàr   ma~ yin~.    sò~  ya lag so

            And not a newly contrived doctrine.

                བདེ་~སྐྱིད་  རྩ་~བ་  ཡིན་~ གྱི~།

                dé ~gyid  za~va  yin~ gyĭ~

                It is the root of happiness

                    བཅོས་~མའི་  རིག་~གསར་  མ་~ཡིན~།

                    jos~mai   rig~sàr   ma~yin~.
