The title means ‘Stars in the sky’.

The singer, Yadung, is from my town. He is now very famous. When he started singing, he had many problems. In that period, the Cultural Revolution in China had just finished, so the situation was still very difficult. This singer was the first to start using a modern style, according to the times, and not just dance in the traditional manner repeating something like ‘Om Mani Padme Hum’. The Achak group has worked with him a lot. They like Western dances a lot so they tried to do something. At one point, Yadung was in prison. He was very sad and worried and wrote two songs dedicated to his mother, ‘ŋai ma-jes a-ma’, and this. Later on someone corrected them and put them in a more elegant style, but when he sang them he was communicating with his mother. This is the origin of the song. Afterward, when he was released, he became famous.

The meaning: I see the stars appearing in the sky, but in my mind it is as if water is falling, I feel sad. Nevertheless, mother, do not worry, I will come out sooner or later. When he wrote this his mother was still alive, but she died before he was released. He repeats it.
