The meaning of this song is that the Tibetan language is very important. We have to study Tibetan. That is what I think and what I sing. This is repeated.

It is indispensable to spread and develop Tibetan culture, to study Tibetan language. If we want to study Tibetan well, we need teachers. This is repeated.

This is what I think and this is what I sing.

All Tibetan children should study Tibetan and memorize the Tibetan alphabet. If you study Tibetan well, you will become fine children. This is repeated.

This is what I think and what I sing.

Then the last verse: Tibetans have their Tibetan language; we have to study our language. Tibetans have their Tibetan script; we have to study Tibetan script. It is shameful to not own our own language and speak another. This is repeated.

I have already told you that all students officially have to study and speak Chinese. Even in offices, everything is written in Chinese be- cause it is the official language. If things go ahead in this way, in one generation the Tibetan language will disappear. People who have a bit of knowledge of it are dying. This is the situation. For this reason they are singing to make people understand this.

At the beginning it says:
