Chögyal Namkhai Norbu about the song
When we are dancing, we are dancing Khaita, not western dances. You are not only jumping, because some people only like jumping. This is not the principle of dance. Principle of dance, what we are doing with Khaita, there are three arguments, you should remember this: first argument in Tibetan is dems dems: means harmonious, all movements harmonious. This is the number one, it must not be missing. The second is called gyù gyù: means movement, but for example you need to check: if you turn to the right side, you must also turn to the left side, if a movement is high, there must also be a low one etc., all movements in a harmonious way, not only jumping. Some people when are dancing are jumping too much. Maybe it is nice but it doesn’t correspond with the dance. The last one is called grig grig: means that you coordinate your body with the music in any kind of movement. Also when you do a circle, for example. You see, most of the people are not following the circle, sometimes the next person in the circle is very far, sometimes near. For that reason when we are doing the dance of ’Gangchenpa’ for example, we always find it difficult. Why? Because there is no 'grig', you are not following, you are not looking where you are, how far is the first person and you, and the next person and you. Because dance is coordinated no? So, you should always remember these three: 'dems, gyù, grig' they are indispensable for dance, not only jumping. You should remember that and coordinate your body and dance. ཕ་ཡུལ་ཨ་མདོ། payul adò Phayul - ཕ་ཡུལ: means fatherland, the land of your birthplace, this is phayul. For example, I am living in Italy but it is not my phayul. My phayul is Tibet, I was born there and grew up there. Amdo: you know already. There are three big regions of Tibet called cholka sum in Tibetan, and one is Amdo. Many dances speak of cholka sum, cholka: means region sum: means three "Ü-Tsang or Central Tibet, Kham, and Amdo," these are the three most important Tibetan regions. This is a characteristic dance of the Amdo country.I When we start with: e~~~~ what does this gesture mean? It means we are reflecting, thinking, it is not ‘hello’.
yul dì: this country, Amdo qos: means dharma jyĭnláb: means blessing, blessing of the dharma in this country, gávala is not a main word. When I write songs I write small letters and big letters: big letters are main point of the song, small letters are for harmonizing, making beauty for the song, but they are not main words. Gávala: is happiness or pleasure.
jyĭnláb: means blessing qeva: means great blessing possessing this country nás: means country, place. This country which has the big blessing of the dharma. That is very true.
nás dì: this country las: means karma, good and bad gyú: means cause dràs: means fruit, cause and fruit of the karma. That means that people of this country pay respect of the karma and when they know, that doing this is negative karma, they don’t do it, or, if it is positive, they try to do it. It is not that someone is asking to do it, but in their nature they have this quality, it means this dévai lam: means good path, but is not main word.
gyú dràs: cause and effect zisbai: means paying respect. Most people even they know which is cause and which is effect, when they are interested, to do something on their own interest, they don’t pay respect. But this is a country, phayul, where people do pay respect of the cause and effect. This is repeated two times.

apa: means my father. When I call my father I can say apa but I could not call your father apa pa: is father a: we are using always as a very kind way. For example, all people in the gar who were following my teacher Changchub Dorje, always called my teacher 'ala' a: means lama, teacher, but ala: means very close, a very kind way of using words in Tibetan. For example when my teacher Changchub Dorje called me, he always said atul tul: means 'tulku', reincarnation, I have this name He didn’t call me tulku, he said atul. That means very close, near. That is an example. Here apa means that. ama: same way, means my mother ma: means mother. apai dóŋ las: means face of the father gévai: means virtue.
