བདེ་སྐྱིད་མཚོ།

    dé-gyid cò

ཆོལ་~གསུམ་~ འུན་~ ཁ་~བའི་ ལས་~མཐུན།

qol~sùm~ ǔn~   ka~vai    las~tùn,

For us of the three regions of the Land of the Snow, who share this same karma,

སྐྱབས་~གཅིག་~  འེ~ སྐྱབས་~མགོན་ ཆེན་~པོ།

gyab~jig~ ě~   gyab~gòn  qen~bo

You, unique refuge and great protector

བོད་~པ་~ འ~ ང་~ཚོའི་ རེ་~སྒུག

bǒd~ba~ ǎ~ ŋa~coi    re~gúg.

For us Tibetans, you are our hope.

མ་~ཐོགས་~ འོག~ མྱུར་~དུ་ ཕེབས་~  འེ~ ཤོག~ ~

ma~tog~ ǒg~ ñúr~dǔ    peb~ ě~  xog~ ~!

Come back quickly, without delay!

    བོད་~པ་~ འ~ ང་~ཚོའི་    རེ་~སྒུག

    bǒd~ba~ ǎ~ ŋa~coi    re~gúg.

    This is the hope of us Tibetans.

    མ་~ཐོགས་~ འོག~ མྱུར་~དུ་    ཕེབས་~ འེ~ ཤོག~ ~

        ma~tog~ ǒg~ ñúr~dǔ    peb~ ě~ xog~ ~!

བླ་~མ་~ འ~ བཟང་~པོའི་   གདམས་~ངག

lá~ ma~ ǎ~   sáŋ~boi    dám~ŋag

A good teacher’s advice

ཕྲག་~དོག་~  འོག~  མ་~བྱེད་   འདྲ་~མཉམ།

trag~ dǒg~ ǒg~   ma~jyěd    drà~ñám.

Is to act with equanimity and without jealousy,

རང་~གིས~ འིས~   རང་~ཚུགས་    མ་~ཤོར།

raŋ~ gĭs~ ĭs~   raŋ~cug   ma~xor,

To not lose our own independence,

གཞན་~སེམས་~ འེམ~ དཀྲུག་~གི མ་~  འ~ འདུག~ ~

xán~ sem~ ěm~   drug~gĭ   ma~ ǎ~  dùg~ ~,

And to not disturb the minds of others.

    རང་~གིས~ འིས~ རང་~ཚུགས་    མ་~ཤོར།

    raŋ~ gĭs~ ĭs~ raŋ~cug   ma~xor,

    To not lose our own independence,

    གཞན་~སེམས་~ འེམ~ དཀྲུག་~གི    མ་~ འ~ འདུག~ ~

        xán~ sem~ ěm~ drug~gĭ   ma~ ǎ~ dùg~ ~.

        And to not disturb the minds of others.

བླ་~མ་~ འ~   བཟང་~པོའི་   ཞལ་~ཆེམས།

lá~ ma~ ǎ~   sáŋ~boi    xǎl~qem

If we Tibetans consider important

བོད་~པ་~  འ~  དགའ་~ནི་   ཡིན་~ན།

bǒd~ ba~ ǎ~ gá~ni yin~na,

A good teacher’s testament,

ཕུ་~ནུ་~ འུ~   ཕན་~ཚུན་    མཐུན་~དགོས།

pu~ nu~ ǔ~  pan~cun tùn~gós,

We, elder and younger brothers and sisters, should collaborate in harmony,

བྱམས་~བརྩེའི་~ འི~   འདབ་~ལོ་    རྒྱས་~  འས~  དགོས།~ ~

jyǎm~zei~ ĭ~ dàb~lo gyás~ ǎs~ gós~ ~ .

And our love and compassion will fully flourish.

    ཕུ་~ནུ་~ འུ~ ཕན་~ཚུན་    མཐུན་~དགོས།

    pu~ nu~ ǔ~   pan~cun    tùn~gós.

rig~ sáŋ~ ǎŋ~ bǒd~gyi bun~dá,

Tibetan brothers and sisters who belong to this good lineage,

བོད་~ལྭ་~  འ~  གྱོན་~པའི་   བོད་~པ།

bǒd~ la~ ǎ~ gyǒn~bai bǒd~ba,

To be Tibetans who wear Tibetan wool,

ཕ་~སྐད་~ འད~   སྨྲ་~བའི་    གངས་~ཅན།

pa~ gad~ ǎd~ mà~vai gǎŋ~jan,

And to be the Inhabitants of the Land of the Snow, who speak Tibetan,

ཕ་~བཟང་~ འང~   བུ་~ཡི་    ལ་~  འ~  རྒྱ།~ ~
