གངས་ ~དཀར་~གྱི་   རི་~ འི་བོས་~    བསྐོར་~ འོ~  བའི~ ~ །

gǎŋ ~gar~gyĭ   ri~ ĭvos~    gor~ ǒ~ vai~ ~ ,

In the place surrounded by white snow mountains,

    མཐོ་ ~སྒང་~གི་   ཡུལ་ ~གྲུ་   ཞིག་~  ན~ ~ །

    tò ~gáŋ~gĭ   yul ~drǔ   xĭg~  na~ ~ ,

    The country of the highlands,

ལོ་ ~རྒྱུས་~ཀྱི་   སྙན་~ འི་འཇེབས་~   མཆེད་~ འེ~ པའི~ །

lo ~gyús~gyi   ñàn~ ǎnjèb~   qèd~ ě~ bai~ 

A beautiful history has unfolded

    གདོང་ ~དམར་~བའི་    ཕ་ ~གཞིས་   ཆགས་~ འག~ ཡོད~ །

    dóŋ ~már~vai    pa ~xís   qag~ ǎg~ yod~.

    Of the fatherland of the ruddy-faced Tibetans.

དྭངས་ ~གཙང་~གི་   སེམས་~  པའི་~   ཀློང་~ འོང~ ན~ །

dǎŋ ~zaŋ~gĭ   sem~  bai~   lóŋ~ ǒn~ na~,

In the dimension of the clear and pure mind,

    བཅོས་ ~མིན་~གྱི་    བྱམས་ ~སེམས་   འཁྲུངས་~ ཤིང་~ །

    jos ~min~gyĭ    jyǎm ~sem   trùŋ~ xiŋ~ ,

    Genuine loving kindness is born,

ལྷད་ ~མེད་~ཀྱི་   མགྲིན་~ པའི་~   ལམ་~ འམ~  ན~ །

lhad ~med~gyi   drin~ bai~   lam~ ǎm~  na~ ,

And through the pathway of a faultless throat

    ཡིག་ ~དྲུག་~གི་   དབྱངས་ ~རྟ་   འཁྱིལ་~ འི~  ཡོད~ །

    yig ~drǔg~gĭ   yáŋ ~da   kyìl~ ĭ~  yod~ .

    Swirls the melody of the six syllables.

        ཨོ་ཧོ་~འོ~  ཧོ་~འོ~   དབྱངས་ ~རྟ་   འཁྱིལ་~ འིལ~ ཡོད~ །

        o-ho~ ǒ~  ho~ ǒ~   yáŋ ~da   kyìl~ yod~ 

        Oh oh swirls the melody!

            ཨོ་ཧོ་~འོ~  ཧོ་~འོ~   དབྱངས་ ~རྟ་   འཁྱིལ་~ འིལ~ ཡོད~ །

yab ~mes~coi   zàd~ ǎdjés~    trod~ ǒd~  nas~ ~ ,

Among the deeds accomplished by our forefathers,

    ཁ་ ~བ་~ཡི་   སྙན་ ~པའི་   རླུང་~  རྟ~ ~ །

    ka ~va~yi   ñàn ~bai   lúŋ~  da~ ~ 

    The fame of the wind-horse melody of the Land of Snow

ཧི་ ~མ་~ལའི་   རི་~ འི་རྒྱུད་~   བརྒལ་~ འ~ ཏེ~ །

hi ~ma~lai   ri~ ĭgyúd~   gál~ ǎ~ de~ ,

Has crossed the mountain ranges of the Himalaya,

    གླིང་ ~ལྔ་~དང་    མཚོ་ ~བཞིར་   ཁྱབ་~ འ~ སོང་~ །

    líŋ ~ŋá~dǎŋ    cò ~xír   kyab~ ǎ~ soŋ~ .

    And spread across the five continents and the four great oceans.

དུས་ ~རབས་~ཀྱི་   འཁྱོགས་~  མཚམས་~   ཞིག་~ འི~ གི~ །

dǔs ~rab~gyi   kyòg~  càm~   xig~ ĭ~ gĭ~ 

In the midst of the turning points in time,

    འཚུབས་ ~འགྱུར་~གྱི་    སྨུག་ ~བའི་~  ཁྲོད་~ ནས~ །

    cùb ~gyùr~gyĭ    mùg ~bai~  trod~ nas~ ,

    The turbulent fog of change,

ལོ་ ~རྒྱུས་~ཀྱི་   རྡོ་~ རིང་~   བཀླགས་~ འག~  ཏེ~ །

lo ~gyús~gyi   dó~ riŋ~   lág~ ǎg~  de~ ,

We read historical accounts on stone pillars

    མེས་ ~པོ་~ལ་   ཕྱི་ ~མིག་   ཤོར་~ འོ~  ཡོད~ །

    mes ~bo~la   qyi ~mig   xor~ ǒ~  yod~ .

    And think back to our forefathers.

        ཨོ་ཧོ་~འོ~  ཧོ་~འོ~   ཕྱི་ ~མིག   ཤོར་~ འོ~ ཡོད~ །

        o-ho~ ǒ~  ho~ ǒ~   qyi ~mig   xor~  soŋ~

        Oh oh, we think back!

རྗེས་ ~རབས~ཀྱི་   སྤུན་~ འུན་ཟླ་~    རྣམ་~ འམ~  པ~ ~ །

jés ~rab~gyi   bun~ ǔndá~    nam~ ǎm~  ba~ ~ ,

We are the last of that lineage, brothers and sisters.

    གངས་ ~ཅན་~པའི་   སེམས་ ~ཀྱི་   ཕུག་~  ནོར~ ~ །

    gǎŋ ~jan~bai   sem ~gyi   pug~  nor~ ~ ,

    For the people of the Land of Snow, the innermost treasure

ཡབ་ ~མེས་~ཀྱི་   མཛད་~ འད་འཕྲིན་~   སྒྲོན་~ འ~ མེ~ །

yab ~mes~gyi   zàd~ ǎdtrìn~   drón~ ǒn~ me~ .

Is the lamp of the deeds of our forefathers.

    མི་ ~རབས་~འདིར་    གཟིམ་ ~གྱི་   མ་~ འ~ འཇུག~

    mi ~rab~dìr    sím ~gyĭ   ma~ ǎ~ jùg~ .

   Do not let it fall asleep in this generation!

        ཨོ་ཧོ་~འོ~  ཧོ་~འོ~   གཟིམ་ ~གྱི་   མ་~ འ~ འཇུག~

        o-ho~ ǒ~  ho~ ǒ~   sím ~gyĭ   ma~ jùg~
