ལྷོ་~   གཡུ་~འབྲུག་ དགུང་~ནས་ མ་~  གྲགས་~   གོང་ ~  །

lho~   yú~drùg gúŋ~nas     ma~  drăg~  gŏŋ ~ 

Before the turquoise dragon of the south thunders across the sky

    ཆར་~   སིལ་~མ་   འབབས་~པའི་    བསུ་~ མ་~   ལ ~ ཡེ །

    qar~   sil~ma    bàb~bai    sù~  ma~   la ~ ye .

    A fine shower drizzles to welcome it.

        བོད་~  ཁ་བ་ཅན་~  གྱི་~ ལོ་~  སར་~    རོལ ~ ཡ །

        bŏd~   ka-va-jan~   gyĭ~    lo~  sar~   rol ~ ya  ,

        Enjoy the New Year of Tibet* , the Land of Snow,

            ཆར་~  སིལ་~མ་    འཇོ་~  བའི་~ བཀྲ་  ~ཤིས་  ཤོག ~

            qar~   sil~ma    jò~   vai~    dra   ~xis  xog ~ !

            May the fine shower bring good auspices!

Before the grass and plants shoot up from the earth

    སྤང་~   མེ་~ཏོག་   བཞད་~པའི་   བསུ་~  མ་~   ལ  ཡེ །

    baŋ~   me~dog    xád~bai    sù~  ma~  la  ye .

    The flowers on the meadows blossom to welcome them.

        བོད་~  ཁ་བ་ཅན་~  གྱི་~ ལོ་~  སར་~    རོལ ~ ཡ །

        bŏd~   ka-va-jan~   gyĭ~    lo~  sar~   rol ~ ya  ,

        Enjoy the new year of Tibet, the Land of Snow,

            སྤང་~ མེ་~ཏོག་  བཞད་~ པའི་~  བཀྲ་  ~ཤིས་  ཤོག ~

            baŋ~  me~dog   xád~  bai~  dra  ~xis  xog~  .

            May the flowers blossoming on the meadows give off good auspices.

    máŋ~   gá~gyid   zòm~bai   sù~  ma~   la  ye .
